The Town Council has paused the formal consulation process regarding the Meadows during the current  pandemic. We hope to pick up where we left off in 2021.

Picture the Meadows


Sadly following the sudden school closures, planned projects could not take place in order to gather ideas from local children. Therefore, if your child

Poster asking children for Meadows deisgns  would like to draw a picture illustrating their ideas  for the area, we would like to receive them. 

  These will be displayed at future consultation events.

Consultation - Stage 1 


What you would like to see on the Meadows ? (in 100 words or less)

At this stage of the process... we welcome all ideas, big or small.

 The first Stage of the Consultation has commenced, all residents are welcome to submit suggestions, the Town Council will also consult the schools and community groups directly.

 As the first step in the process we are gathering people’s ideas on how the space might be used. All ideas will then be collated and summarised to then form the next stage of consultation.

Hiring the Hall

Main Hall

We have  two buildings with rooms to hire on an hourly basis, and the newly renovated Fanny Shaw's Community Building (FSCB) which is operated on a key loan system. 

Town Hall:- The Main Hall is large, suitable for a variety of uses - dance, exercise, large meeting space, wedding reception, family parties, musical events, etc, whilst other rooms - the Club Room, Ante Room, Council Chamber, are suited to smaller classes/groups. All rooms are available for hire during the day & evening during week days & weekends.  

Memorial Hall:- the Hall & Kitchen are available to hire for meetings, parties, fayres, events and classes/groups, during the day & evening during week days and weekends.

Fanny Shaw's:- Community building key available free of charge for use by groups such as: parents, schools, nurseries, scouts & not-for-profit groups holding events on the park.
