Wirksworth Tuesday Market 

Covid update: Wirksworth Tuesday Market will continue during any lockdown or restrictions, unless council staffing is impacted and running the event is untenable -in such a case this will be advertised as widely as possible. Please support your local market but take care to adhere to the current guidelines and avoid socialising within the market square.

Time: The market operates each Tuesday between 8.30am - 1pm.

Getting here:  Parking is free for permit-holding Derbyshire Dales residents until 11am in the two car parks in the centre of town (at the Market Place and Barmote Croft) some free street parking is available also and there is a free car park on nearby Wood Lane.

Buses stop directly outside the Memorial Hall. From Matlock the 6.1 (Sixes, TrentBarton towards Belper), 110 or 111 (Your Bus, towards Ashbourne) travel to this stop. From Belper the 6.1 (Sixes, TrentBarton towards Matlock).

Information for Traders:

Traders operate on a casual basis but all stalls must be pre-booked each week. Traders  require Public Liability Insurance which can be purchased for as little as £40 pa. See our information guide here.

Hiring the Hall

Main Hall

We have  two buildings with rooms to hire on an hourly basis, and the newly renovated Fanny Shaw's Community Building (FSCB) which is operated on a key loan system. 

Town Hall:- The Main Hall is large, suitable for a variety of uses - dance, exercise, large meeting space, wedding reception, family parties, musical events, etc, whilst other rooms - the Club Room, Ante Room, Council Chamber, are suited to smaller classes/groups. All rooms are available for hire during the day & evening during week days & weekends.  

Memorial Hall:- the Hall & Kitchen are available to hire for meetings, parties, fayres, events and classes/groups, during the day & evening during week days and weekends.

Fanny Shaw's:- Community building key available free of charge for use by groups such as: parents, schools, nurseries, scouts & not-for-profit groups holding events on the park.
